Summers and Traditions
Waleed Zaman has a distinct style when it comes to dressing. The use of fun colors let it be kurtas or chinos having an eastern element always remains dominant. Recently he was spotted at the Kayseria Loyalty Program Launch wearing a blue kurta with a waistcoat in beige and blue. Waleed used a straight pajama with a pair of dark maroon colored khusas. He lets his dressing simple and sophisticated. I always see the artistic side whatever he dresses up. Waleed carries the look with his rough hairstyle making a statement. I would say for an evening this is a great combo. Blue is the color of the season and and you can further have your options with the footwear.

PSFW 2014 Trends from the Red Carpet

PSFW is always the biggest fashion event of the country. From the ramp to the red carpet its all about the love of fashion. The red carpet always remain the happening area with all the celebrities, models and designers. Lets have a quick review of some of the exciting trends at the red carpet of PSFW.
  • Blue is the Color

Blue is not a particular color of any season but if we relate it to any season then it would be summer or spring. A lot of the fashionable men at the fashion week's red carpet were spotted supporting blue. Get your hands on blue color in your wardrobe if you dont have one.

Akif Illyas the designer was spotted wearing blue trousers with a blue check shirt. Blue on blue is always a great combination to go with. What i like the most about the look is the sensible use of accessories. Atif has used black woven belt and a black watch with grey casual shoes. The simple and minimal look makes it a hit on the red carpet. Go for this semi formal look in the evening.

I think this is how you make the best use of colors when it comes to balancing them. Moeed of the fashion house "Muse" has paired up blue chinos with a plain white shirt. The blue is defined by the careful use of brown accessories (the belt) and the shoes. I totally adore this amazing look. His sense of style is amazing. If you are forgetting his glasses then you need to observe that. Another plus point he has. That is another way to rock an electric blue.

HSY never goes wrong with his wardrobe. The blue suit looks perfect with a striped shirt. Another version of blue on blue. The use of brown with blue makes it even better.

Omar Farooq of republic by Omar Farooq has been one of the most well dressed person i came across in the industry. He is always stylish from head to toe. Here Omar is also seen wearing blue pants with a light colored check shirt. Yet another sensible use of blue. Totally in love with the look.

So blue is the color of the season. From international runways to our red carpets blue is the seen as the big trend. Be sure if you are going for blue on blue you dont overdo it.

  • The Men in White/Pastel Colors

In summers we tend to use white more. On the red carpet some of the men have totally reinvented the use of white. Kamiar Rokni and Waleed Zaman who have a different sense of style but in their own ways were spotted in all white.

The Traditional Man
Waleed Zaman of Kayseria is always close to our own cultural roots. His sense of style is not entirely modern but sophisticated and traditional. On the red carpet he was seen wearing an off white kurta and the same colored waistcoat with a straight pajama. This white on white works for Waleed and not to forget the very traditional Khairi which stands out. Thumbs up for the very refined and simple look of  Waleed.

Kamiar Rokni knows how to play with colors at his best. He was also spotted in white on white with a beige blazer and the shoes. The cropped pants and the way he has carried makes it perfect for the red carpet. Pastel colors are back for men.

HSY also experimented with bold and neutral hues. Here he supports a very light shade of beige with a blue check shirt. Here is a clue for the men who always take light or dark colors and never experiment. It is about how you pull off.

Spring/Summer Campaigns

Stoneage

Stoneage for a while has been a little pushed back as i see. Usually on my visits that was rare to find everything up to the mark since it has always been one of the best Pakistani highstreet brands so the expectations are always higher. This time stoneage is back with a bang with its spring/summer collection.

The Advertising Campaign

The shoot is done by the maestro Ather and Shehzad featuring top models Muhammad, Nadia Ali, Fayeza Ansari, Shehzad Noor and others. The whole outlook is bold and different from the previous ones. Atleast I am in love with the campaign for the creativity and image the brand has tried to come up with.

Top Trends

Accessories and Shoes
The best part of the spring/summer collection is the range of accessories it is offering. From bands, sports watches to the funky belts. Each and everything is amazing. The shoes ranging from casual, semi formal and formal are equally good. There is a whole range to choose from. About a week back on my visit I couldn’t find all of the things which the catalogue offers but I am sure when they are available, there is a wide range of the accessories and shoes. Personally I fell in love with some of the loafers and boat shoes. The watches are also to die for.

Chinos/ Colored Pants
Chinos have been dominating the menswear for long now. Men are more confident carrying them. In my observation they are not meant for the teenagers and young guys but also for middle aged people. This collection of stoneage has also got some nice colored pants. They are easy to carry in the summer season due to the light fabric as compared to denim.

Checks/ Stripes
This time the stripes and checks are again in vogue.

Denim
Denim as always is a trend that never fades.

Color Schemes
The colors in general are for everyone. There are vibrant and even pastel and lighter tones. The key tip is to make the combo of double shirt. You can get some ideas from the catalogue.
Choose a T shirt and then a casual shirt keeping in mind the color scheme. It is not necessary to wear exactly the same items as in the catalogue. You might not be having the same physique, color complexion as of the person wearing it. Wear what suits you.

On the whole the collection is great. Grab some of the items for your wardrobe this season.

The Pakistani Men at their Best

Kamiar Rokni is one of the person who never fails to impress with his fashion sense. From eastern to western anything he puts on is always great. The best part is he always dress up comfortably and yet according to the event. Here is a recent image where Kami is seen wearing a white shirt and a pastel shade of pants. The nicely rolled on pants, the woven belt and green loafers makes a great combo. Not to ignore the fact that its not just the dress but also the person carrying it.

Fawad Khan who has been making waves in the entertainment industry for quite a while is also known for his sense of dressing. The image I am sharing is from "tuc the lighter side of life". Fawad was spotted wearing a denim shirt with camel colored skinny pants. I like the shoes and belts and the sleeves. Blue on khaki is always a great choice to go with. So who says skinny's are out? My advice wear what suits you.

Adnan Malik is another style icon. His great sense of style is reflected at every event. Here the image i am sharing is from the launch of Toni and Guy Hair meet wardrobe. Adnan is seen wearing brick colored chinos with a white shirt and a  blue blazor. A great look supported by a nice hairstyle. The important thing we need to balance colors every time we have vibrant colors and this is a good example.

The Pakistani actor/model and singer who is making his debut in the upcoming bollywood movie "Khoobsorat" is another pick for this section. I like the waistcoat the cropped shirt and the overall look.

The two most known fashion designers were recently spotted at a launch event Rana Noman and Kamiar Rokni. Loving the details from the sensible use of belts to shoes and tapered trousers. My vote is for Kamiar again and he makes to this list again.
I plan to add more in the same post. Till then happy reading. :)

H.E. by Mango Spring/ Summer

Some key Trends

White is a color of all seasons but in summers white is more comforting. White shirt and denim is always a great option to go with. I would say a white shirt is a must. Even pairing it with chinos can be exciting. For a more defined look belts work wonders and not just the plain black belts but of every kind and texture.

In the image above a brown woven belt is used. I personally found some good ones on stoneage with price range starting from PKR 800. Some people carry a "khola puri" or a "khusa" equally well with chinos but that is only recommended if you are daring enough to experiment with your looks.

Checks
In this collection of H.E. by mango checks are seen again. Checks are for every age. For a semi formal and formal look they can be worn. I personally like blue on blue.

Again the same thing the brown belt makes the entire outlook.

Summers are more fun with colors. One can opt for so many colors. The next two images are again from checks. The light colors set the tone for the season.
